These people are doing the best they can considering they service two communities that don't properly fund them. Ask the towns they work for why they don't have a new building and more officers on staff? Its a shame and a sad situation for the animals.
I have been hearing horror stories about this shelter. Volunteers have found animals that have been neglected, that are sick and left with old food moldy food, they're trying to euthanize several dogs who are scared and traumatized instead of trying to rehab them. It really is a shame that you guys talk the talk but you do not want to walk. It's very upsetting to hear about Michelle leaving as I felt she was the only person there that I truly trusted. I will never recommend the shelter to any friends or family ever and And I am in the pet business there's several hundred clients that will get a heads up and I really hope people do their due diligence and read some reviews and information about these animals and the people who are " taking care of them " what a travesty!!!! When the truth
I stand by North Haven Ainmal Control's stance on feral cats! I wish they were able to withstand the outcry from the people who would rather let the cats cause trouble in the environment/die slowly and painfully in the wild. Euthanizing the cats is the most humane way to bring down their numbers. Anyone upset about this should go adopt 2 cats and keep them inside or keep their opinions to themselves. NHAC, lots of people stand behind your logical decision we just aren't as loud as the ones who have no solution. Keep up the good work!
North Haven Animal Control thinks that it is okay to “humanely” murder feral cats. They are now backpedaling and have since removed this Facebook post due to the backlash they have received, but unfortunately, it’s too late. You should be ashamed of yourselves. This is disgraceful, and the public has a right to know who you are, what you are about, and the kind of business you conduct.
I stopped by and spoke with an animal control officer named Dave who was incredibly passionate and truly cared for the animals at the shelter. I had a long conversation with him and am planning on adopting a cat from this shelter. I'm very shocked by some of the negative comments since I had quite a different experience. I didnt speak with a women. It's a small hidden shelter but I do believe they take good care of the animals and do their best to get them adopted. The often post on their Facebook page about animals they have and pet tips and reminders. Would highly reccomend!
