Wildlife Learning Center

Who knew that in sylmar they have an entire world in the center. It is great for kids and for families, and after they close at 5:00 p.m. they do small 1-hr group tours. These are mostly confiscated illegal pets or injured wildlife. Did you have a male sloth there that they're keeping for species preservation, and it needs a female mate! The place started in the garage of a couple who were taking their rehabilitated animals to schools and educational presentations. They ended up using the existing property when the guy who owns it offered it to them, since he didn't need it. He kept half of his property for his other animals in the giraffe, that are used in the movies. A great little spot to see some really cute animals. I bought my tickets on Groupon and saved a bit by doing so. The parking spot is small, but it offered plenty of parking for my visit. It is a small spot, so don't expect a zoo, but plenty of really cute animals which received rehabilitation and are now permanent residents. It's big enough to enjoy an hour plus visit and small enough to feel special. The animals seem healthy and happy, very nice to see. There is an option (at time of review) to feed the giraffe for an additional $100 for a party of 5 max. From what they told me it offers 15-20 minutes of a private educational tour of the giraffe and even a feeding. Great option, in my opinion. My favorite of the day were the Lemurs.

i will always love coming back here, i’ve had my birthday parties hosted here growing up and a million animal encounters that i will never forget. truly an incredible establishment and a wonderful place to spend your time, i never get bored of my visits!

Very small learning center, but it is great. We paid $30 for my boyfriend and I, our toddler was free because she’s 2 years old. You can read about the animals right in front of their exhibit.

My husband booked an animal encounter tour for my birthday and we had the best time meeting (and even feeding!) the porcupines, tortoises, reptiles, giraffe, and sloth! Even as a group of adult biologists we learned so much! Hannah was an excellent tour guide and I can’t wait to come back with visiting friends and family!
