The Country Vet

I prefer going to this vet because of the walk-in feature. All the other nearby vets I've called either need you to have an appointment for wellness and vaccinations, and they have a backlog of at least two days. The staff here are friendly and the service is relatively smooth and efficient.

Extremely Disappointed with Today’s Experience I’m very disappointed with how my Doberman Apollo and I were treated today. I called ahead and was told by a staff member that if I arrived before a certain time, Apollo would be seen. Trusting that information, I drove nearly 40 minutes from Weslaco and arrived at 8:50 AM. When I got there, they took one look at some photos I had taken earlier of Apollo’s bloody nose and a blood-soaked napkin, and based on that alone, claimed he likely had a clotting disorder. Then they told me they didn’t have the medication to treat it and refused to examine him in person. They said it would have been a waste of money for me to be seen, but also admitted they couldn’t know for sure what was wrong without seeing him directly. That contradiction is exactly

We took our boxer Blossom here for a rash and a yeast infection of the ears. They gave her a shot and me some shampoo to bathe her with and she was cleared up within a week I’d say. Dr Erin was so helpful. Today, we took her back for a follow up and “ the world famous” Dr. John looked at my blossom today. What a great Dr. he is. He explained in DETAIL what blossoms problem was and was genuinely happy to see the baths helped her. We were told to get some Tenacin to spray on her feet between baths. Dr. John was very friendly ( as was Dr. Erin) and I will NEVER take either one of my dogs anyplace else again!! Oh and the staff …. How nice and professional they all are. GO BEARS 🐻!!!

The staff is very quick and efficient and the Veterinarian is absolutely knowledgeable and straight to the point! Took my cat in for some severe dental issues and the Vet immediately laid out a health plan for different strategies we planned to test to ensure my cat got the best care she needed. Started off with a steroid injection, antibiotics and a mouth cleanse that almost immediately improved her health within the first three days. We had our follow up a few days ago where my cat showed significant signs of improvement and you could tell the Vet was very prideful and happy to see my cats condition improve. We will be coming back in a few weeks for a dental cleaning to ensure we manage all my cats remaining minor symptoms. I DEFINITELY recommend bringing any of your pets here if you do

Super friendly, and you don't have to see a vet just to get basic vaccines. This made the visit more affordable. They were quick to see us and were kind to my pets. 03/25/23. Went on a Saturday mourning. They take 35 pets as walk in. We got there around 6am and there was already a long line along the highway. They opened the gates at 730 and gave you a ticket with a number. We were #23. Everyone that needed to see the vet lined up by number. They weighed the animals and said they would call back when it was our turn. About 1 1/2 hours later, they called and saw our dog. The vet spent plenty of time and addressed several concerns.
