Milford Animal Control

I found a lost pup today, he was ragged and filthy but friendly as can be. Was way too sweet for anyone to not be worried that he was lost, to be honest he looked like his owners probably either weren’t able to keep up with his matting fur and feed him properly but probably belongs to an elderly person who hasn’t got the stamina to keep up, any who I brought him over to this shelter and they were great about bringing him in and getting him checked out, they seemed very attentive and concerned for his well being. The fine lady at the front desk was so polite and well spoken, vey nice person. She told me she’d keep me updated on whether he parents came to pick him up or not and if not then I’m more than welcome to adopt him. I hope this great pup gets reunited with his family but if not them

Animal control is looking for donations. Primarily wet food for cats and dogs. If they can't use it, they also donate to a animal food bank where seniors or other peoples in need can excess food for their pets.

They were very accommodating and caring... I made donations due to the death of my dog. Dog bags, full bag of dry food bowls,and dry shampoo.

I just want to say how extremely intensive and unsympathetic the women at the front desk showed me and my partner. I had just put down my dog a few days ago. A female yellow lab that was diagnosed with lymphoma.. I understand that the dogs at this this shelter were adopted already. All I wanted to do is a meet a great and maybe walk or interact with the dogs they have there. Maybe just for a moment to relive my pain, and to maybe connect with one of the dogs. We had to sign in which is understandable, All..(the receptionist) cared about was her telephone conversation to whom ever we were talking to., and. wouldn't let me use their restroom when I asked. OMG!!!!! Could she have been any less sensitive. She should not be working in this field if that's the way shes going to be treating

I have persisted on calling this facility(six times w/ VM left) in regards to rescues after moving to this area. Not one time have I ever heard back from anyone. Tonight I receive an email from a friend I met discussing an animal that was on the verge of being euthanized, and I am so distraught that this facility does not return calls. If they have the people willing to adopt, leaving voice mails, why not return them? It surely does not take months. Is it easier to euthanize animals than make a phone call to a prospective adopter? Is this government operated, city, tax payer or what? This animal control officer/station needs to be elected by the people or governed by someone because the current situation is not conducive to "ANIMALS".
