Petco

Staff has little too no knowledge on anything while having typical don’t want to be there attitudes. They are not rude or anything, they do have knowledge on certain topics just not what you would find at a smaller pet store. Prices are okay during sales, however they do have an excellent selection of everything. Vetco at this particular store has wonderful employees and great prices

The Petco store is well stocked with just about anything you need for your pet and the staff is generally helpful and courteous. Petco also offers discounted vaccines for your pets, but this is one area I would totally avoid due to my recent poor experience. The two person staff seemed unqualified and discourteous and would not vaccinate my cat because he tried to claw them. The staff did not have adequate equipment such as long leather cat-handling gloves to protect their arms when restraining a cat. Every cat has a different personality, and some are frightened when out of their home. Well trained staff should be able to deal with a frightened cat. Their aquarium section may be clean of algae you can see, but clearly something is going on here for all these dead fish to be present and not picked up after. there were SEVERAL, i began taking pictures in the beginning then just stopped. There were fish that were untouched, while there were pieces of others being consumed by other fish. the dead fish in the second picture was in an 'observation tank'. One dead betta fish, another with no water. At that point I walked out, I was not going to give them any business if this was the state they were keeping their fish in. Yeah the tanks may LOOK clean, but something else is not being taken care of here, especially when they tanks are not removed of any dead fish immediately.

I am writing this review to warn the public and to document a serious violation of my civil rights that occurred at the Petco in Milford, CT. I was shopping in the store with my highly trained medical service dog when 2 male employees approached me and told me my dog had to be on a leash and wearing a vest or I would have to leave. I calmly explained that my dog is a legitimate service animal and that a leash interferes with her ability to perform her medical tasks. He told me I was wrong, that “it’s the law,” and that store policy overrides this. That is completely false. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), service dogs are not required to be leashed if a leash interferes with their work, and they are not required to wear a vest or any identification. Amazing staff for grooming. I take my short haired dog for nail trim and buff monthly and recently started taking our longer haired dog as well and they did his paws and face So much better than other groomers who go for just the look. Here they actually cleared up the hair around his eyes and between his paw pads so he wasnt slipping around as much and can actually see. Staff in general is always friendly and store is well kept with plenty of high quality products.
