Highly Recommended. We drive from Fort Washington to get our two dogs and three cats seen by Dr. Michelle Lapera. She is the best vet we have ever had in over 25 years in different states and in Germany (retired military). If she left, we would follow her. Also, all the vet techs are the most wonderful young people. They know our pets and have always treated them with the utmost care. We have never once felt uneasy or concerned. Quite the opposite! They all make us feel that our pets are in the best hands. Lastly, the front staff has always been polite, receptive, and knowledgeable about any issue or question we had. Any time we need an appointment or to reschedule one, they each have been very patient and helped us find the optimal time for our work schedules to bring our pets
Just don’t go here. Miss Josie is the most incompetent person I’ve ever met. Her messy, disheveled appearance and lack of professionalism set the tone for the entire experience. If you call, be prepared to sit on hold for 30-plus minutes, only to finally walk in and see the staff drinking coffee and eating chia seeds at the counter like they have nothing else to do. Honestly, it’s a complete waste of time. They expect you to leave your dog for hours as a “drop-off,” instead of taking a few minutes to actually communicate with the owner about what’s going on. A pet can’t speak for themselves, so how is that supposed to work? It makes zero sense. On top of that, even if you schedule an appointment, they don’t honor it. The whole process feels disorganized, careless, and inconsiderate of both
Last year my cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. We noticed he was getting worse with the medication they had prescribed and took him in for a follow up to see if the meds were actually helping at all and if we could consider switching his treatment plan to something else. All I got was a refill with no answers or alternative choices. Our beloved cat ended up living only a few more months with no help from banfield as we could not afford to take him in again just to get brushed off. Always feels like they don’t actually care about your pets and just want to bill you.
The vets are very kind but they are just too overbooked to provide proper service. You will wait 30-45 minutes and then they'll glance at your dog and prescribe you something that won't work. I don't think the vets can see notes from past visits. I took my dog in THREE TIMES for an infection and every time they just prescribed me the exact same wipes that hadn't been working for months. I once waited 45 minutes to pick up a single prescription that I had called to confirm just a couple hours prior. I had a virtual visit and the vet just never showed up -- no phone call, no nothing, and I waited 20 minutes on hold to figure out what happened. This was for a check-in while I was in the process of figuring out if it was time to euthanize my dog! Banfield's online reservation system is also te
I had a great experience at this Banfield location. I was able to book a same-day appointment for my cat who has bad anxiety, and the whole process was super smooth. Dr. Miller was amazing. He was really kind, easy to talk to, and took the time to come out of the exam room to explain ways I could help my cat feel more comfortable at home. He was thoughtful and did not rush the visit, which I really appreciated. The front desk staff was also very nice and chill. I wish I got the name of the person who helped me because they made the check-in process really easy and welcoming. Even though this location is a bit out of the way for me, I would definitely come back to have Dr. Miller care for my cat again.
