Academy of Dog Training and Agility

My Toller, Mickey, and I did 8 weeks of puppy training with John and Carrie. Fabulous experience! My past puppy training experience has been 15 puppies in a room going wild. Not at the Academy! Each owner/puppy has their own cubicle, keeping all the pups separated. John demos the steps with his own or Carrie's dog, then we go to work. Each owner/puppy had individual attention as required to learn. After 8 weeks, Mickey does sit, down, stays (with distractions), comes every single time he's called, has a solid "leave it" and "drop it." He's got the basics of walking with a loose leash at my side, and greets people somewhat nicely (that could be better!). Highly recommend! Pay attention and do the homework and you will be as thrilled with the results as I am. We are taking Focus on Therapy D

Just finished the focus on tricks class with my pup (we already did the puppy start program) Worked with John who was terrific. All positive reinforcement and made me feel like I knew what I was doing as we learned so many new things!!

Amazing staff and classes. We tried a few other trainers before we found the academy, and this was paws down the best. I recommend them to everyone. They have a large diversity of classes, and even an indoor pool and swimming lessons. All the trainers have been incredibly friendly, patient and run the classes well.

We have been taking classes here for over a year now. It's amazing when everything you are taught comes together at the end of each class. We are able to apply what we learn in class to real world scenarios. We have grown together as a team. All of the instructors here care about the wellbeing of all animals and are very educated in utilizing positive reinforcement training. My dog loves going to "school" here.

Really great experience here, despite reaching out to them mid pandemic. We were able to observe part of 1 class and take part in one with our older dog. Both instructors were fantastic and happy to talk with us and get to know our current dog. Our older dog will be taking classes with them in the future, and we've already signed up for their puppy class for the puppy we are bringing home soon.
