Yellow Springs Veterinary Clinic

My experience at Yellow Springs Veterinarian Clinic has been exceptional and encouraging for my puppy, Ms. Ricky, to have a long and healthy life. Dr. Bernard and the veterinary technicians are all informative, caring, and thorough in maintaining my puppy's good health, especially regarding her diet, ear and oral care. Highly recommended!!

We have been clients of this practice for about five years and overall, our experience has been decent. We have spent a considerable amount of money here, including nearly $4,000 in the past year alone while treating our dog. While care has generally been adequate, we have often left appointments feeling pressured into additional tests and services. What ultimately left me disappointed is a new policy that feels less about patient care and more about restricting client choice. The practice has informed us that they will no longer authorize requests from external pharmacies for medications, prescription diets, or supplements. We have utilized Yellow Springs Vet for many years. I was recently informed that they no longer cooperate with outside pharmacies. When asked if they could email me my prescription for my cat’s food, I was told that outside pharmacies require physical, written scripts. After speaking with Chewy, they stated this was not the case (physical scripts required only for medication). They continue to push purchases through their in-house pharmacy, making it difficult to use outside vendors. This seems unethical. The fees also seem to be high with expensive tooth cleanings ($1000+) being recommended at each visit. Sadly, we will be looking elsewhere.

UPDATE: Dr. Olmstead is wonderful too. This vet clinic is top notch. Yellow Springs is an excellent veterinary clinic! I have all my pets,, 2 dogs and a cat, going there regularly for checkups and vaxxes, and I got my puppy spayed at Yellow Springs. We see Dr. Mara and Dr. Bernard. They and their staff are very professional and will discuss the cost of any diagnostic or treatment with you beforehand. I really appreciate the good care my animals get at Yellow Springs.
