Waldorf Emergency Care

My boyfriend & I took our 6 month cat here as she was not eating and throwing up. This was the closest vet to us (40 minutes). The vet comes in, gives us a fist bump? The old geezer was not able to make any sense by rambling on and on about things that weren’t relevant. He kept checking his watch and saying “you can’t get mad at me for this or that and oh she may die”. SHE IS 6 MONTHS OLD. He also had face injuries from “falling on the ice”. He’s probably the age of someone that should not be driving and resting easy in a nursing home. He didn’t even know what was wrong with her. They also kept us waiting. They tried to get us to pay $800 for something the vet wasn’t even sure was going to work. And we had to pay $175 for them to “look at her”. We immediately left and we took her to our re

Overall a not-so-pleasant experience. We brought our dog in because we believed he ingested some kind of toxin as his vision was going in and out, he kept losing his balance/falling over and was clearly experiencing neurological symptoms. When we get inside, they evaluated him and told us he wasn’t an emergency and we had to wait (not to mention the techs seemed annoyed we were so worried over clear neurological symptoms). They finally get us back to a room after an hour. In the room our dog started to have tremors after another hour in the room, in which I ran to tell someone who finally came to look at him and said they’ll take him back to monitor him (again, annoyed we were worried over our dog). I didn’t have much interaction with the doctor, just as assessment of my dog, so this is for the incredibly kind and empathetic staff that worked with me and my girl last night. Not only did Megan, Shay, and Mark provide outstanding care to my Harper, they also helped reassure and calm me down. Megan sat with me and answered my questions about her diagnosis, meds, and what to expect before we see our normal doctor on Monday. Shay and Mark helped in keeping the environment light, and made sure I had everything I needed to help with an anxious night. Of course it’s expensive and you have to wait, because that is a reality of emergency medicine for any species. Took my dog in for an emergency visit presenting with lethargy, nausea, lack of appetite, and bloody vomit. He ended up having to stay overnight and into the next day for gastroenteritis. Staff was friendly and helpful. Dr Fox is super nice and patiently answered all our questions. They were a bit busy at times, but in the end my buddy is back to his old self and making a full recovery. IMO pricing is fair. I would definitely bring my pets back here for their medical emergencies (though I hope they stay healthy!)

I’ve taken my dog here for unexpected happenings, but I’ve had such empathetic and caring staff take care of my dog as well as myself. Jen came to check up on me when I was crying and Emily was at the front desk and was so understanding of my situation. I was blessed to have my dog come here and have checked out. I’d rather be safe than sorry when it comes to my dog and the staff has really made it so I didn’t feel alone. Thank you for taking care of my Maxi (:
