I took my Bernedoodle to this PetSmart for grooming and had one of the most disappointing experiences. I was told he had mild matting behind the ears and that the rest of his coat could reamin long and would be blended. I specifically asked to keep his body length because it’s winter, and to shave only the feet, face, and fanny. When I picked him up, I was shocked. They gave him a full summer cut—completely shaved down and uneven. His eyelashes were cut without permission, his mustache and facial hair were removed, and his eyebrows aren’t even the same length. The cut looks rushed, sloppy, and nothing like what I requested. Not to mention it took over four hours. My dog went in with a beautiful coat and came out looking nothing like himself. I have a small, calm dog. After picking him up and getting home, my dog appeared uncomfortable, he wasn’t eating, and I saw him jerking his body around like he was in pain. I checked him out and it appears he’s got several nicks in sensitive areas including in his private area. And there’s more. I specifically say when I drop him off not to keep him all day and I need him back as soon as they’re done. Well about 8 hours later I’m calling to find out what’s going on. I get put on hold for 9 minutes and they say they’re just finishing up (they’ve done this before). They keep me waiting at the counter for several minutes with no other customers there, then get my dog and his hair is not only nothing like how it should’ve been cut—it’s extremely choppy, uneven and just overall looked like it w

Do not go to this place!! Service is awful, they do not want to do their jobs. There was one groomer left that I actually trusted to take care of my dogs. Today, I brought in my Pyr mix who was shedding crazy and Rikai, my groomer turned us away. I booked an appointment for a bath and brush and the groomer told me they don't have time to deal with his fur so I need to come back. I have been taking this do to this salon in the same condition for his hole life. The groomer took a comb with real thin teeth brushed my dogs thick fur for a minute and then stuck the comb full of fur into my dogs fluffy tail and told me he was matted. Do not go to this location. Just recently moved to La Plata Md, but have been going to petsmart for years. Dropped my dog off at the 12pm didn’t pick him up until 815pm . Claimed they were running behind . Picked my baby up and he’s still slightly damp underneath. I wasn’t looking for a discount but the least they could have done was offer a discount. The manager was super nice and offered 30%off next visit but unfortunately the damage is done. Any recommendations for groomers in La Plata??

I scheduled my cat for her usual grooming, a lion cut, bath, and nail trim. I dropped her off like I always do, but about an hour and a half later, I got a call saying they cut one of her nails too short and were “concerned” about another nail that wasn’t trimmed. When I came to pick her up, nothing was done, no haircut, no bath, nothing. Korin never spoke to me. I completely understand safety policies and that accidents can happen. But what really frustrated me was the lack of communication and care. The groomer didn’t even come speak to me directly about what happened or what to expect next time.
