I recently had a very scary emergency with my cat, Puss, and the team at the UGA Vet Clinic truly saved him and saved me from falling apart. From the moment we arrived, every single person treated him with so much care, patience, and love. They explained everything clearly, let me ask a million questions, and never made me feel rushed or judged for how worried I was. I even sobbed in the ED lol. Puss had to be hospitalized and monitored closely, and Although we got a pretty scary diagnosis of heart disease and hyperthyroidism, they handled his condition with real expertise. I could tell they genuinely cared about getting him stable and comfortable again. They kept me updated, walked me through all the options, and made sure I understood his diagnosis and treatment plan. I had my Great Dane at UGAVTH for surgery on his eye. The vets and the students (especially the students) were great to deal with and did a phenomenal job. Communication was great. They kept me up to speed on everything going on with my dog throughout his stay. I have dealt with the large animal side of the facility many times over the last 40 years and have always felt that my animals got the best care possible. This is my first experience with the small animal side and was very pleased with the care here as well. I would recommend UGA to anyone.

My dog received excellent care in the soft tissue surgery department for a parathyroidectomy. The surgeon and senior vet student on rotation were both knowledgeable of my dog’s condition, explained well what further imaging was needed and why, and set expectations for surgery and recovery in their hospital. The student on rotation called every morning and evening with an update and it was clear my dog was being well cared for while recovering. There was quite a long wait to be seen - around three months though thankfully there had been a cancellation so we only had to wait around 6 weeks. But, I’m glad we were able to wait and come here vs some of the other hospitals in the Atlanta area.

Will Ringold & Dr. Birchler gave my girl Ellie a stellar level of care. I cannot believe the amount of investigation they undertook to find out what is going on with my fur baby. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE FOLKS!!! Worth every penny!!

I was referred to UGA by the emergency hospital where I took my dog when she was having breathing issues. The Dr was waiting at the door when I arrived and immediately took my dog in and put her on oxygen. She was diagnosed with aspirated pneumonia. The doctor discussed her condition and follow up treatment that was needed. I was impressed with the doctor's compassion and the time he spent with me discussing treatment and answering my questions. Could not have asked for better care or time the Dr spent with me. My girl is getting better. Thank you for everything you did to make her comfortable during the first week of recovery.
