Ordered an art piece months ago that had not shipped yet. They had a big sale going on that included the art piece so I asked if I could cancel my order so that I could reorder under the much lower sales price or if they could price match. They said that both options were not possible. First and last time I will order from this store! Next time will just purchase from artists online store directly. Reply: Please don’t play the “we are just a poor small business" card. You sell single throw pillows that are over $300. I am an Asian American interior designer. I love the vintage rug shop and was so excited to stop by and pick up some items for one of my projects. Maybe I was overly excited because when I expressed my excitement to the owner who was there that day, she reacted with at best, disinterestedness, and at worst, disdain. I have experienced racism more times than I’d like to admit over the years and it definitely felt like I was considered a less than customer bc of my race. After that experience it became more obvious to me how homogenous her employee group and clientele is which is such a shame considering her store is located in one of the more diverse neighborhoods of the bay area. In these times (and all times) there’s no excuse for exclusion and mistreatment of those who look different. S

Everything is amazing. I always leave with special finds I still treasure. (That were sometimes meant for clients) Such a happy and positive atmosphere. They have the “good stuff!”

Beautiful shop and friendly staff. Recommend as a top home goods store in the Bay Area not just Oakland.
