Rockingham County Animal Shelters

Thanks so much for taking care of my pal for over a week. I was so happy to finally find him and bring him home. Needless to say we were both to excited to sit still. Thats why our pics are so amazing! Thanks again guys. Have a safe and Happy Holiday Season, and Merry Christmas!!

Made a call to the Rockingham animal shelter about animal neglect on a Sunday (after hours) dog looked malnourished in a confined small kennel with dirt flooring with vines and leaves growing around the kennel. No water and food in sight when I visited twice and they sent a police officer to the location. The officer gave me a call saying the dog did looked thin but had food when he arrived that was it. I called animal control for a follow up the next day and they told me the officer stated there was food and they didn’t feel a need to follow up and check it out. They also said that the next time I go to see the dog if he looks bad to give them a call. First off that’s what I’m doing and the owner told the officer he knew I reported so I highly doubt I’ll be seeing him again. Okay the dog

We've adopted several animals from here. Staff are very helpful, especially the front desk lady♥️☺️. People should volunteer and see how much they really do! It cant be an easy job, and they dont make enough money for all they do, thats for sure!

We adopted 2 fur babies a week ago. The staff are so friendly and very helpful. Cheeto, our adult baby, and Willow, our kitten baby we adopted, are fitting in with our other fur babies well.

Rockingham County has a very good animal shelter. It’s clean and well run. The people are friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. We adopted our dog from them and we dealt with Amy, Chantel, Erin and Katherine when we were there. Each person was kind and helpful to us bringing out all of the dogs we wanted to spend time with until we made up our minds whom we were going to adopt. They have a special area you can sit and get acquainted with the dogs. As for those adopting kittens, this shelter has a room you can go into where the cats walk around freely and you can sit and bond with them too. Yes adopt your next pet from Rockingham County’s Animal Shelter!
