Peterson Smith Equine Hospital + Complete Care

While in Florida one of 3 horses ingested too much sand, we had A vet Dr Malone come out to examine her and he found her to have way to much sand in her system and has us take her to Smith Peterson equine hospital! When we arrived at about 11:00 pm the staff went to work immediately to assess and begin treating her, with in 1 hour they had her assessed and took the time to tell us everything they had found and were doing for her. It took 3 days to get her back in better shape and could be returned to us. We were totally impressed with the everyone there and commend them on there manner of performing their job, we were very impressed with the doctor taking the time daily to update us on her recovery. Thank You to the Doctors and Staff

This is by far the best and my absolute favorite veterinary practice around. When we first moved here, we tried multiple vets, and the biggest challenge was finding someone who would actually show up—especially when urgent situations came up. We have many animals, so reliability is essential. Peterson Smith, and especially Dr. Luis Cadena, is truly the best. Dr. Cadena always takes the time to educate us, genuinely cares, and consistently goes above and beyond for our animals. As first-time horse owners, we truly could not have done this without him or the incredible team at Peterson Smith. We are beyond grateful for their dedication and care.

Very happy with the routine veterinary care my horse's receive from Peterson Smith.... Dr Lopez is amazing as are Dr Reynolds and Dr Ryan. Last night, had an emergency and had to bring one of my horses to the hospital and was very impressed with Dr Henderson and with the impeccable surgery performed by Dr Perez which literally saved my horses life. The entire team last night was awesome and everyone knew exactly what to do and worked together with a high-level of skill. Dr Henderson has been available to give me updates whenever I call and even though I don't think this wonderful veterinarian ever sleeps, she's always incredibly warm, kind, and provides excellent education re my horse's diagnosis and treatment. An amazing facility who took exceptional care of my 1 1/2 year old Perlino Quarter horse nicknamed “David,” when he came down with a near fatal case of impaction colic, due to not hydrating himself properly. We arrived late in the evening as we had a 2 1/2 hour drive to get there, and Dr. Perez and his team were waiting when we pulled in. David was touch and go for 4 days and they were amazing! Dr. Perez phoned me morning and night each day to keep me apprised of David’s progress, and was caring and straight forward. Thankfully, he did not end up needing surgery, as they were able to continually flush his system to break the impaction loose, while hydrating him and managing his comfort via IV. They were very reasonably priced for an emergency hospital, with extended stay, and compassionate

Extremely pleased with this hospital. Professional and kind. After using another equine hospital where I had nothing but issues, this was a breath of fresh air. They care for the horses above all. They will be my go to going forward. When I came to pick up my boy one of the employees was hanging out with him brushing and talking to him, so sweet. His surgical procedure went great and communication was fabulous. Definitely use this facility. Thank you for helping my boy Jess.
