Jon is awesome! We rescued our Lab/CD mix, Chloe, from a not-so-great environment, and she struggles with a lack of confidence and general fear, which developed into resource guarding as she got more comfortable with us. Jon met us at a local dog park to work on safe exposure to other dogs, gauging her tolerable threshold for being able to stay calm and not react anxiously at the sight of another dog (especially the little guys!). Jon gave us some great tips and homework, and we even saw an example of a non-observant dog owner at the park, whose dog attacked another dog. We all saw the signs immediately when they first arrived at Squirrel Ridge, and unfortunately our suspicions came true. I highly recommend giving Jon a try, so far we’ve had a great experience! Jon worked with me today, for an hour, on my dog’s reactivity to other dogs while walking on a leash. This was the most productive hour I have ever spent in a dog training session. Jon is helpful, professional, approachable, and kind. He truly understands canine behavior !! He taught me how to train my dog out of his reactive mind set, and helped me understand my role as the leader. He reviewed the concepts learned afterwards, and gave me a reminder sheet reviewing the concepts. Money well spent!!!!! I definitely recommend Jon for any and all of your canine training needs!!!!

We had the pleasure of meeting Jon for our 8 month old German shepherd/ Husky mix. He helped us keep our pup calm when the doorbell rang or door was knocked, which usually makes him go crazy! He also usually pulls so much when walking with his leash on, but within 10 minutes Jon taught us how to work with a reward system and our puppy no longer pulls on the leash!! Thank you Jon, we will definitely need you for our second puppy soon!! Amazing trainer, if I could give 10 stars I would!

Jon is great! I have a very nervous, reactive dog that is afraid of strangers, especially men, due to a traumatic past. Jon was very sympathetic to my dog and was not at all judgmental about his behavior. We went on a walk around the neighborhood and got hit with it all - strangers, barking dogs, and even the mailman. Jon gave me pointers on how to act and calm my dog and it worked! It's still going to be a long journey with my dog but Jon gave us the tools I need to finally get a confident, calm dog after 5 years of trial-and-error. I highly recommend Jon for dogs with reactivity issues!
