I adopted my kitten from the humane society after losing a cat. They were understanding and answered all of my questions regarding different cats in their facility. Everyone was nice and you can tell they really care for their animals. It was very easy to play with/interact with different cats and go in all the rooms. My application was approved within 24 hours. I recommend this shelter over the Alachua County animal shelter as they take better care of their animals.

Ran the Santa Paws 5K-9 today 🐾❤️ Benefiting the North Central Florida Humane Society — an organization that’s become so close to my heart. Over the years they’ve helped me so much, from my girls’ vaccines to Halo’s spay surgery through a special grant. I’m so grateful for everything they do for our animals and our community. This one meant a lot to me. 🐶✨ Story time: My girl Halo was a found dog. I searched everywhere for her owner Facebook, word of mouth, PetFinder… I even had her scanned for a chip. Nothing. What’s wild is that a particular dog kept popping up on Facebook, the one everyone was trying to catch. When I see this post she was filthy and sitting in a ditch, I realized… that was my girl. ❤️‍🩹 It breaks my heart how many stray dogs we have here. Halo was lucky — she found a

Thank you Humane Society. Adopted a cat from this place. And they were very nice and made the process very simple. Seems like they really care about their animals. Walked out with this beautiful baby and have been so happy ever since. I found my best friend here, and I was never a cat person but now I can say otherwise. Thank you. Highly recommend adopting here.

I had my two female kittens spayed there on dec. 11. There were very nice people at reception and they took great care of my babies for 1/4 of the cost my vet quoted me. I can't say enough good stuff about them. Please donate this holiday season to help them do the great work they do. And please spay/neuter your pets and keep them safe and warm indoors.

Applied for a cat we met while visiting the area. They approved our application and said to call to confirm. Called, no answer. Left voicemail and received a text message. Ended up spending 4 hours texting for what would have been a 5 minute call if they would answer the phone. We live 9 hours away (which was disclosed on our application) and they are unwilling to do any paperwork digitally, take payment over the phone, or even hold the animal until we arrive. I was told that if the cat we liked was adopted while we were driving down there we could just get a different one when we get there. Say what!? If you are not willing to work with an out of state adopter then just deny the application to begin with. Overall this organization is so caught up in their own rules and policies they are a
