Fairfax County Animal Services - Lorton Campus

I came after finding a cat I was interested in adopting. After meeting him, I knew I was ready to move forward. The process was very easy, we filled out a questionnaire. Then went through some questions we had and went over our baby's health information. The man that helped us at the front desk was very kind and informative. Our baby was immediately at home once we arrived. He ran all around the house so happy to be home. He is such a sweet kitty, only one years old. I would definitely recommend adopting any pet from this location.

We went in just to look, but we ended up getting a little fellow that others had over looked because he had allergies and was missing a lot of hair. Rusty immediately took a shine to me and vice versa. I looked past the scabby back and lack of hair and saw what a handsome boy he was. The shelter let us do and adoption test, the only problem was he was jealous of my husband. But with patience and a lot of treats they are getting along much better now. The staff was very honest with us about his nipping and behavioral problems and offered help if we needed it.

I had such a great experience at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter! The volunteers were so patient, kind, and clearly love every cat there. The front desk staff, especially the young lady who helped me was incredibly sweet, gentle, and explained everything so clearly. Thanks to them, I found my perfect little cat. She’s so affectionate, playful, and beautiful. She even fell asleep on me the first day we got home! I’m so thankful for everyone’s care and kindness here. ❤️

We got our new member from here. The love and care they provided her was beyond words. The adoption process was easy and they make it the whole experience feel safe.

Went in to adopt a little dog and had the best experience. The staff seems to really care for the animals and works to find them forever homes. Took home sweet Muffin and couldn’t be happier. The follow up from the shelter has been incredible. Please, always adopt and consider the animals who have been in the shelter the longest.
