Etowah Valley Humane Society

I had such a wonderful experience with this organization! This was the 1st place I visited in search of a fluffy companion and I was not planning on adopting that day 😹. The staff was so welcoming, organized, and put the care and comfort of all the future pets first. The ladies were so knowledgeable about each kitty's temperament and preferences, their love for each of them was contagious! They gave me time and space to make a decision (bc it is a HUGE commitment to care for a pet), and their kindness and encouragement gave me confirmation that Octavius "Gus" Augustus was the right fit for me. I can't imagine my life without Gus Gus now 😻. Thank you all so much for all you do for these sweet babies and for being fabulous match-makers to their future owners 🐾

What a perfect experience with Etowah Valley Humane Society to find a new kitty! The entire process was thorough and efficient! From completing the application to choosing the perfect kitty for my home. I really had not specified a particular cat but they allowed me to see what was available; I held and played with several. They didn't rush me and were so knowledgeable about each cat. Please meet Doodle (formally known as Whisper) my precious new kitty. She settled in perfectly and is already getting along with my other cat! Thank you EVHS for a great experience and helping me pick Doodle. She is perfect!!!

I had a wonderful experience adopting my new love today. I made an appointment. The facility was ready for me to meet my pup. The facility was clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. The dogs were quiet. My pup was bathed and smelled delicious. There was an inside and outside area to interact with my pup. I was able to spend as much time as I needed to spend with my soon to be best friend. My pup was healthy, happy, and current on vaccinations, and full of wiggles and zoomies. Brian was my contact person today and helped me with the adoption process. I left with a goodie bag of a rabies tag, microchip info already transferred to my name, 2 hard copies of vet records, a new toy for the pup, a new harness with leash, a collar for the microchip and rabies tag, and the pup.

So I just wanted to update my review and let everyone know the other side… I got a new addition to my family Brian and the staff were just so amazing! Everything, from treats to collars to leashes to a new blanket to shots and being fixed as well as having the chip implant… was included. If anyone doesn’t know what the chip implant is it is a tracker so that if anyone picks the dog up it says who’s animal it is….. the whole transition was all and all one of a kind, super precious sweet baby girl, she gets along great with our pitties……we have decided to name her Cypress, as she is strong and deeply rooted. An application process longer than some job applications. Application process doesn't mention $100 non refundable fee until you've completed the extensive 2 page application. Not a non refundable adoption fee. A non refundable application fee for just putting in your application saying that you wish to adopt. They won't let you look at any animals until after you've filed and paid the application fee and only if you're approved. Feels like the rental scams where you pay to have landlords view your accounts but the rental never gets rented cuz they make more in application fees.
