Don’t go there. Do not recommend. My dog Freya had a freak impaction happen after she busted out of her kennel during the day and ate the Dr.browns pacifiers that we had on the nightstand in the baby room. We paid for an emergency surgery at Emergency pet hospital of Craven Carteret due to being after hours when she threw up and noticed impaction.About $4,000… a week later she started getting sick and not eating again. Took her to Craven animal hospital. They proceeded to tell us she was impacted again. Gave us 4 options right then and there. 1) euthanize her. 2) pay for a surgery 3) go elsewhere 4) surrender her and THEY DO THE SURGERY We could not afford a surgery back to back like that. I cannot say better things about the care of this veterinarian team. They have always been wonderful, but the compassion they showed when it was time to say goodbye to my Zoe has made me an advocate for this team for life. There are not enough kind words for the care they showed our family during that devastating loss.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t say enough great things about Craven Animal Hospital. When my service dog Ranger started having stomach issues, their team went above and beyond to make sure he was taken care of quickly and compassionately. A special thank-you to Clinton and the entire staff for being so kind, patient, and attentive during a stressful time. this was a Saturday and Clinton was so patient and walked me through my options. The on-call doctor was incredibly responsive and thorough, taking the time to explain everything and make sure Ranger was comfortable and on the right path to feeling better. It’s clear this clinic truly cares about both pets and their people. I’m grateful to have such a dedicated veterinary team here in New Bern. Highly recommend!

My very first visit was 10/27/2025. My Yorkie had to have life saving surgery. Dr Baker and all the staff was awesome from the moment I walked through the door. Dr Baker was very thorough with my girl. She kept me in the loop, several phone call from her to keep me updated. The staff was very nice and reflected good vibes. I highly recommend Craven Animal Hospital. I was very happy, and even better than that, I think my girl Chanelle was happy too. Thank all of you.

I sent my husband in with our ferret for a checkup and bloodwork. Just for his regular meds that he needs for his stomach, that they told me he will need to continue to take the rest of his senior life. Our ferret is old and just needed the medication to keep him from becoming dehydrated from his bowl movements that cause diarrhea for his age. He's been on them for a year. He doesn't have but a year longer to live at his age. They manipulated my husband into spending even more money for a rabies shot! For an animal that never goes outside. On my care credit card without my permission. My husband did not know any better obviously...I am very unhappy that they would take advantage. I will definitely not be bringing any of my other pets to this vet. Its quite disappointing and I will be ca
