Bill's Pet Shop

I frequently visit Bill’s Pet Shop with my family, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much they offer for so many types of pets. This is a truly locally owned shop that feels welcoming and full of character, it’s not just another chain. From the moment we walked in, you can tell they cater to all kinds of pet lovers. Their selection is impressively wide: for furry pets (dogs, cats, small mammals) there are food, treats, bedding, toys, and accessories galore. They also have a robust aquarium / fish section with tanks, filters, live fish, and supplies. And for reptile enthusiasts, they carry cages, heat lamps, substrate, and a solid assortment of reptiles and reptiles’ supplies. One thing I hadn’t expected was some of the “other” animals that pop up from time to time: Mice, Rats, Hamste

I’ve always liked stopping by Bill’s Pet Shop to see the animals, but I’m really disappointed with their gift card system. We lost a $150 gift card from Christmas and found out it can’t be tracked, voided, or replaced in any way. That’s a lot of money to be gone with no options. I’d strongly recommend they switch to a trackable gift card system, and I’d caution customers to treat gift cards like cash.

Puppy mill dogs. I unfortunately ended up getting one from here in the past and he came from Sharon Munk of BJ’s & Guys in Kansas. They’ve been cited by several USDA violations and have been on the horrible hundred list for puppy mills. If you want extra vet bills due to preventable health conditions popping up - or if you want to pay the same price (or double) what a reputable and ethical breeder would charge, go here, otherwise turn away!!

I visited this location when I was younger and I am astounded to hear that the conditions in which these animals were kept is still going on. Please do not shop here. The permanent enclosures are still barren and sterile, lit brightly with no place to hide—just as they were before. I didn’t think that this would continue as we collectively become more aware. I was wrong. Owners, I beg you to research exotic animal needs and accommodations. “Food and water” is not enough. What if someone put you in an empty concrete room at a constant 70 degrees and only interacted with you to feed you? That is a description of prison. These animals are in prison. Give them privacy. Give them shade. Give them room. Give them enrichment. They didn’t ask for this.

Great place to get your pet supplies but they sell kittens, Puppies, birds, and other sweet little critters but I wouldn’t buy one from there. My daughter bought a sweet little kitten from there and within like 2 days he passed away due to an infection in his lungs. When we call the pet shop they said that hey don’t know where a lot of the pets come from or what condition they were living in. They wouldn’t refund her money or anything. Some of the employees are nice but they don’t really have any personality or anything.
