Big Island Mobile Veterinary Care

Brought my clearly sick dog in for care. She was dehydrated, lethargic and clearly suffering. Did they bring her in right away to treat her? Or at least hook up an IV? No, they tell us we have to pay upfront before any care was given. We had to go to the bank first to get money! Then we paid and they didn’t even give her an IV, they found my dog had bone and rocks in her gut and said they would dissolve on their own! What? Rocks dissolve on their own now! What happened to caring for an animal first and foremost. Today my dog is dead. It could’ve been prevented if real care was given I’d be very careful coming to this place.

In my opinion, the people here are great. My dog had never been there. She was in a lot of pain, and we didn’t know why. I called at 10am. It was their half day , but I was told to come in anyway. They assessed her, gave her some meds. A few days later I saw some improvement. But had to go back in fit stronger meds. ( it’s understandable to start with the weakest dosage to see what will help.)They again saw me the same day. They all seem to actually care about your pet. And they are very upfront about every charge, and make sure you can do it. I like that a lot. I will definitely recommend this vet.😁

I brought my Great Pyrenees in for her initial vet appointment almost three months ago. I knew something serious was going on with her right hind leg so I specifically chose this vet because they supposedly offered mobile service in the event I had to euthanize her. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. The first few visits, the staff were friendly and accommodating given the circumstances. Once the vet was out on maternity leave, the staff became negligent and unsympathetic. I have been providing palliative care and had to wait three days for my pup’s meds and had to call back to check on the status as my dog is now severely suffering and the meds are the only way for me to help mitigate the pain. When our dog was attacked by a wild boar he sustained an extremely deep gash on his neck that was six inches long! We panicked because he had never been seen by any vet on this island. We called this clinic, and remarkably, they were able to get him in and surgically repair the wound almost immediately. We were also very worried because we couldn't get a collar and leash on him, but they were like, don't worry, just bring him. Meg was wonderful! She worked with us to creatively get him into the office and get him examined and sedated for surgery. Dr. Ansari is highly competent and also extremely compassionate and personable. Had to come in an emergency when our usual vet was away. Vet was rude, not engaged with our dog at all. She did the job, but you know it's all about the money with her, I was so disappointed. Good news is there are much better places to go. The vet nurse was lovely
