I highly recommend this rescue. We've adopted two of our cats from them and the adoption process was smooth and reasonable. They were there for us with follow up advice and help if needed. Our cats are wonderful additions to our family. I would adopt from this rescue again and again.
I would absolutely recommend this rescue. I have adopted all of my animals from them. The vetting process for potential adopters is thorough, which may be considered to be a bit of a pain for some folks, but I really appreciate that the well-being of the animals seems to be the first priority and the rescue definitely appears to want to ensure animals are placed in true forever homes. I found the adoption fees to be very reasonable and all of my kitties were spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, etc., prior to adoption.
Firstly I want to say that their cats appear to be well cared for, and I greatly appreciate that. But if you are looking to adopt, I would recommend going somewhere else. Me and my roommates went in, fell in love with a bonded pair, filled out an application, and waited a week and a half to be told our application was rejected. When I respectfully asked why, so that we could improve as cat parents as we sought to find cats elsewhere, I was told the information was "confidential." I understand the application process and not wanting to do same day adoptions to ensure the cats are a good fit. But it seems looking at other reviews that lots of people have had similar experiences. We were required to put down recommendations and after talking to them it seems they were also never contacted. The Animal Welfare League of Frederick County is such a wonderful organization! They do so much for animals in our community—from lifesaving foster and adoption programs to a community food bank, TNR programs, and veterinary assistance. The amazing volunteers and fosters go above and beyond, and their programs truly make a difference for both animals and the people who love them.
I would consider someplace else when adopting a cat. I saw a kitten on their website and reach out to them to see if the kitten was still available. I was told yes, went in for a visit, handed in the adoption papers. I arrange for them to speak to my Vet and was told that they chose someone else to adopt the kitten. They should have been upfront with me in the beginning that there were multiple people interested in the kitten.
