Affordable Dog and Puppy Training

I have two dogs, one is small, in charge and somewhat neurotic. The other is huge, anxious, and somewhat stubborn. I love them both so much. But fellow dog walkers and neighbors were starting to show some doubts, as my two dogs continued to enthusiastically "protect" myself, my husband, my parents, my house, and the neighbor's houses from, well, the neighbors, the neighbor's dog's, all types of vacuum cleaners, any running water, and people wearing hats. Thanks goodness for Lisa. In two lessons, my family was able to stop holding our breath in the face running water, or strangers in hats. My husband and I learned to heal two very strong dogs on a very loose leash without fearing for the safety of other people, dogs or vacuum cleaners. My dog was impeccably behaved until she got her first heat and was fixed. Then she became very reactive. She was flipping on her leash trying to get at dogs 50 feet away on walks. Having never dealt with reaction before, I reached out to Lisa. She got me in promptly and educated me on dog language and how to get my dog to respect me and respond. After an hour, my dog wasn’t the same. I took my dog for a walk today, utilizing the instruction I was given yesterday, we had an incredibly successful walk. She still needs a bit more practice (as do I). But the results are there! Highly recommend.

I just completed the 4 week beginning class with my 1 yo Malinois and am definitely very happy with the results. Lisa takes the time to address each dogs "potential problems" and how we as the owners can work with said problems to achieve maximum results. Lisa has a professional and no BS approach and tells it how it is. Very helpful. I highly recommend this trainer and am in fact going to do private lessons while we wait for the intermediate class.

Lisa came in to work with my two little dogs, and they changed right before my eyes. I realized that it was ME that wasn't being a good pack leader for them, and that they were running things. She taught me to stop trying to communicate with them in "human" and to start communicating with them in "dog". And best of all, to find my "inner Rottweiler" :) I highly recommend her!

I started training with Lisa and Affordable Dog and Puppy Training in December 2022. She calls it dog training, I call it human training. Dogs know how to be dogs, humans need to learn how to train dogs in ways that the dogs understand. My pup, Charlie, and I started with basic puppy obedience and continued with the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) training. Even though Charlie passed the CGC test long ago, we continue to attend the class for many reasons, including helping with other's training their dogs to be able to walk through a crowd peacefully, to not react to other dogs, and to not react to distractions. It's a great opportunity for Charlie to socialize in a safe environment. (FYI, Charlie is a service dog, and we did 90% of her obedience training with Lisa.)
