The Vetco Vaccination Clinics are great. They get you in and out at a reasonable price. BUT, if the veterinarian writes a prescription (for heartworm prevention, in my case), make sure it's for the EXACT product you intend to order. My order has been cancelled twice now by Petco Pharmacy because the veterinarian wrote for Heartgard, instead of Iverhart. I noticed the error and mentioned it while we were still there. I was assured that Iverhart is the generic of Heartgard and, since the vet had authorized generics/substitutions, it would not be a problem. This has absolutely not been my experience and, once you leave, there is zero hope of speaking to a customer service rep who can actually help. All Petco phone numbers lead to the same outsourced customer service call center. So, the reps
Abusive, stay away!! We went to Vetco for vaccines and they were horrible. He had his CGC and was working towards SAR, so he was wonderful with people and pets. He was forcibly abused by the vet tech, who literally walked in and tried to grab him, our dog got scared and tried to run, and the tech then body slammed him to the floor. He didn't do anything to the vet tech to warrant that treatment (was just standing there when he walked in), and was so scared from the encounter that he now pees and expresses his glands whenever we go close to a Petco. We've spend tons of time and over $5,000 in continuous training to try to help him recover, and he still has trauma. He will now nip at anyone and pee who tries to touch him. It is devastating to see our poor boy like this. I tell everyone, sta
Vet good grooming overpriced
Although we have had good experiences in the past this last experience was not the best. They explained they were training a new vet which is completely understandable however there was no preparation in scheduling appointments with this. This caused at least 8 dogs to be waiting and for us to be seen an hour after our appointment time. Would have been more appreciated for a text saying they were delayed or to stay in the car as it was very uncomfortable waiting for over an hour with a dog. Again I would use this service again but would hope this would not happen in the future.
