VCA New Hartford Animal Hospital

Wanted to say a big thank you to VCA Animal Hospital. Our beloved 15 year old pup was sick. The front office staff got us in same day. We saw Dr. Cornelius and Amy the Tech. Both were great. Took time to explain everything being done and the charges for the services. They both were so good with our sick pup. Thank you soo much for showing kindness and compassion.

Overpriced paid $200+. $100 of which was for the vets time which was rushed and she spent maybe 4-6 minutes. Went there for simple deworming and it turned into more appointments that are unnecessary. Then at the front desk I'm told I can purchase a second course of profender a topical dewormer (I requested the oral route and she said we can but let's try the topical first.) Bottom the lady at the front desk said she could sell the dewormer but chose to have me get a stool sample and that's a much more expensive route then spending 40 dollars on another dewormer (profender) in the mean time my animal suffers with worms so they can make more money. People should treat others the way they would want to be treated. If they did I would have paid less and had the second round of dewormer without

We've always had great experiences with the staff and docs here. Very kind to both humans and our animals. They are organized, professional, and very good communicators. So grateful for them. EDIT: We continue to love NHAH. They found a way to treat Gus that was inexpensive and effective.

I have two pugs, one with chronic health issues, and despite moving I will only bring them here for annual exams and sick visits. Not only is the staff always friendly and attentive, but knowledgeable as well. Dr. Cornelius always takes the time to sit and talk with me (a very anxious dog mom) and explain everything in thorough detail and answer all of my questions. I cannot speak highly enough of her and practice. It's evident how truly passionate about her patients and their families continued health and well being. I have never had any issues making or rescheduling appointments. I have never been surprised by a bill, prices for each exam / medication / procedure have been well outlined to me in advance. We had to put down Charlie our 7 year old German Shepard on Tuesday, one of 4 that we have. Charlie had health issues for a few years and it finally got the best of him. After several different diets and meds we decided enough was enough he needed to not suffer anymore. Maureen understood the decision and moved appointments around to accommodate our decision. The staff was so concerned everyone came in to say goodbye to Charlie. Dr Cornelius came in to start the process and was so assuring we were doing the right thing. The room was set up so comfortably with treats and blankets on the floor. I just want to thank the entire team for making a very tough decision the most comfortable it could be in a very hard time
