My normal vet was booked and my cat has been sick for the last couple of days, so I was thankful when Towson Veterinary Hospital had an opening for today and could see me right away on my day off, I quick understood why this vet had an opening when no other office had openings for at least a couple days. Dr. Ron Sand was absolutely rude and pretentious. He rambled on about different disease my cat MAY have then had the nerve to recommend Feliway and/or Gabapentin for my cat when I bring him again because he was agitated after the staff man handling them while taking his vitals. I complained as I was leaving about the treatment myself and my cat received from the vet and they agreed that he doesn’t have a demeanor in which a medical professional would interact with a professional. The place is loud and outdated, but you'll never find a sweeter and more caring pair of Vets, especially with my rather complicated cat, Dr F was the best. One time we had something minor go wrong at the office with my cat, and he not only called me throughout the day to check on her, but offered to watch her overnight in his own home if she wasn't doing well. I am sad that we moved such that he will no longer be her doctor.

This place is great! I have a diabetic cat who needed to be boarded requiring 2 shots of insulin a day. Not only was he so happy and healthy coming back, Dr. Sand was one of the most knowledgeable vets on feline diabetes. He provided me with a plethora of knowledge on the condition, best diets and how to maintain and recommended insulin treatments I didn't even know existed. He will be my primary for my 11 yr old boy now. I even think they brushed him everyday too, because he came back so soft.

Why can't I give a zero? In my opinion, there is no way they have a 4.0 rating. Too many bad ratings for 4.0 to be the average. This vet HARMED MY FRIEND'S CAT! THEN THEY CHARGED HIM HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO TREAT THEIR MISTAKE! His cat is still very ill. The vets forces vaccines on clients when their pets are geriatric and had enough vaccinations to last nine lives. They don't even offer to take a titer instead. The vets should make an informed and intelligent decision about individual pets' needs. We put our trust in them and now this nightmare they created. Vets should not make pets sick. My friend's cat was fine until the wellness check. Our pets deserve to live without pain and suffering. Also, thed office is awful--dirty, outdated and depressing.

I've been boarding my 3 dogs there for years mainly because the care was adequate and their prices were good. Not anymore. While the prices are fine, I'm not so sure about the care. When I picked up my dog recently, they carried her out and almost dropped her. Why not bring the dog out on a leash? One of my previous dogs was stepped on during pickup.
