Terrible customer service from the staff and the vet. God forbid you have a question and need more answers than what they’re giving. Their solution to everything is always to provide a remedy that requires you come back frequently and spend more money. Would not recommend at all. Update to their below response: My dog was in fact thoroughly examined by the wonderful St.Francis Vet’s office (also in Decatur) just two months ago so I know for a fact she does not have fleas - especially since it’s not her skin that’s itching (which I never said), it’s her ears - the same ears you have been treating for two years now. I know that her ears itch anytime she excessively shakes her head. Additionally, I chose to reduce her allergy treatments to an as needed basis which has proven to be once eve

Super knowledgeable owner, discussed the symptoms treatments and possible scenarios in great detail at a clinical level while still being understandable to non-medical professionals. You can tell she genuinely cares for animals on a personal level, which is so important to ensure your pet gets the quality care they deserve.

I’ve heard nothing but bad experiences from people I trust about this clinic. The way the staff and vet handled my friend’s visit was completely unprofessional — rude, dismissive, and lacking any real compassion or care. After hearing what happened, I definitely wouldn’t bring my pet here.

This is a fabulous practice. They are small and independent which I appreciate - these days it can be hard to find a non-corporate owned vet. Dr. Lavell is attentive, understanding, and very knowledgeable. All of the staff from reception to the vet techs are personable and kind. They are great about giving cost estimates and their pricing is fair - again, being independent means it just goes to their practice and not a corporation. I drive out of my way to go here because they’re worth it!

The vets and techs are all so patient and caring! I brought in a stray cat who'd never been to the vet before, and she freaked out on them, and they reacted so calmly and compassionately and let her "hide" for a while and take her time coming to them. Also highly knowledgeable and explained everything really well to me. And open on weekends??? Can't recommend this place highly enough. They really do treat pets like people. ❤️
