The Dog House

Five stars all around. Our recently adopted rescue dog can be challenging due to anxiety and reactivity, but Scarlett was exceptionally attentive and flexible, adjusting her approach to ensure he felt as safe and comfortable as possible. Her care and responsiveness made a huge difference for our dog. We wil absolutely trust The Dog House again.

Scarlett is amazing and provides peace-of-mind to your loved one. I highly recommended the amazing Dog House and their staff to anyone looking for a place for their doggo. Scarlett and her staff treat you and your pet like family. Scarlett even emailed us to let us know our Juniper was enjoying her stay and having fun. After a horrible experience at a different dog kennel we found our forever dog boarder. Like I told my husband the first time we left our dogs there… it doesn’t feel like a “business”, it feels like I’m leaving my dogs with a family member. She’s so sweet and treats our dogs like her own. And our dogs always come home happy and healthy. And believe me I know what it’s like to have your dogs come home traumatized by a boarding place. I never feel bad or anxious leaving my dogs here. I have had 4 other family members bring their dogs here and are also repeat customers now!

We have been pet parents for many years, but never used a kennel as we were fortunate to have family care for our dog when traveling. A few months ago, we got a new puppy and don’t have the ability to leave him with family. The Dog House came recommended, so we booked a night for our high energy 9 month old pup. Scarlett was so kind when I dropped him off and made me feel like he would be well taken care of. As an anxious pet parent, I am so thankful to know he is in good hands when we travel.

The Dog House is the only place I’ll board my two labs! I’ve tried every other place in Mount Airy and hands down Scarlett is the best! We’ve been customers for probably the last 2 years and will be forever. She’s always been super accommodating and is extremely kind/genuine. Her facilities don’t feel like a normal kennel, it’s more like they’re staying at a friends house. I love that they immediately go outside when they get there. My dogs are a handful to say the least but she keeps welcoming them back with open arms! Can’t recommend enough!
