The Ark Pet Spa & Hotel - Hixson

I stopped by there today because I’m hunting a good place to board my dog. I told the girl behind the counter what I’m looking for & to have someone show me around to explain why the ark is best for my dog. She said they don’t do tours. How then can you expect me to leave my dog at a place I know nothing about. WE DONT DO TOURS!

I am so extremely upset and will never bring our dogs back to this grooming facility again. When I first called to inquire about grooming services and described the breeds of dogs I have, (rough collie & Boston terrier) I specifically asked if anyone had knowledge of a rough collie breed. ( our Boston just needed bath and nails trim) our collie needed de- shedding brush out and light trim on back end and cleaning up the sanitary areas. They told me they have experience with collies and I also told them you cannot shave a collies fur… I do however want her sanitary areas trimmed up and just lightly trimmed on the back end. The groomer even called me before she started and said she had some knots in the back which I know she did however it was not mats where they can not be brushed throu

Update: Penny went for another bath and cut and once again we are completely satisfied! She isn't scared when I drop her off and is happy when I pick her up. Her mermaid bow is adorable! 😍 Penny was so soft and fluffy when I picked her up. She smelled great too. She had a full bath, sanitary trim and her teeth brushed. Great, friendly service and the price is so very reasonable compared to those chain stores. We will definitely be back in 6 weeks!

Puppy loved staying here! Staff was great, very attentive and helpful. Did doggy daycare for the first time while out of town since our dog couldn't go to a place where we wanted to go for a couple of hours. They let us know what was needed and had us send necessary documents via email and fill out paperwork online so when we arrived we could be at ease just watching and talking to be comfortable dropping him off. When we picked him up he was so tired he couldn't stay awake for the ride back to where we were staying! He loved it! He got a bath there and played all day! We watched him on camera go from one room to another and our kids loved watching him play with other dogs at will. He was so exhausted! Would totally do it again and the front desk staff was awesome! So we tried out The Ark for the dog grooming. Our pups were way overdue, and their normal groomer wasn’t available. We gave them specific instructions on how to groom our Pomeranian, Sonic. Clearly there was a miscommunication, cause when Sonic came out. He was completely shaved (from before and after pictures). We were horrified cause this is not at all what we asked for and he doesn’t look like a Pomeranian. They also didn’t cut Laney’s (our Dachshund/Beagle mix) nails as short as they needed to be, we had to go back to get her nails redone on the same day. They didn’t offer a discount, and the staff/groomer were less than sympathetic. Needless to say, we won’t be going back.
