Sutton's Southern Pet Retreat - West Columbia (formerly Barnwell Oaks Kennels)

We love Barnwell! Our dog has some special diet and is a bit high strung, and they always take such good care of her. She has had some medical issues while boarding, and they were super communicative and helped us get her diagnosed properly by her vet based on the details they gave. We know so many people who only trust Barnwell with their dogs as well!

My Maximilian is a 55 lb anxious mama’s boy and doesn’t always do well with strangers or other animals. He likes to roll in the mud, plays extra rough, runs away with the neighbors dog, and learned how to activate the lid for my motion sensor garbage can in search of forbidden “treats” the moment I leave his sight. The staff is always great with him (and me) - despite him not being a docile lap dog. The prices are affordable, and I specifically chose to start boarding him there a few years ago because they do not force intermingling for the safety of every dog and staff member. I am thankful to have found boarding that suits my (and his) needs and am confident he is taken care of when I need to travel.

Very well run kennel. The staff is very nice and love seeing your dogs on every visit. They call anytime there's an issue, but that's resolved over the phone. I have boarded my 4 dogs there many times and used their grooming service, as well. All dogs returned like I left them, except they smell better. lol.

I am so glad we found this groomer. They are amazing and our little girl always looks great upon pickup. Definitely recommend!

Interior was decorated nicely. Staff friendly. Dogs appeared to be in great health. No issues. I did not see kennels but saw lots of staff. Would recommend and will use again.
