Rewards Dog Obedience School

A great training school! We took our dog through 3 separate classes from puppyhood to adulthood and he learnt a lot and got as far as to pass his AKC Canine Good Citizen. Thank you Dee!

I have taken five of my dogs to Rewards Dog Obedience School over the years. Each dog has thoroughly enjoyed classes with Dee and benefited greatly from her classes and training methods. My dogs temperaments have ranged from soft to intense and all stages in between and Dee has always been happy to address each dogs needs and make suggestions to help my dogs with any issues they have. My dogs would run into the dog school if I let them, they really love to go to training and they love Dee too. From basic training, to AKC Canine Good Citizen and now onto Agility our training experience at Rewards Dog Obedience School has always been good. On several occasions Dee has gone above and beyond what is required of her as a dog trainer. My dogs and I certainly give Dee our vote!

After 7 years of taking agility lessons in Baltimore I finally have an instructor that "gets" my dog. Dee knows dogs. She knows how they think, what motivates them and how to make training fun. She also knows how to show the human part of the bond how to communicate more clearly, work more consistently and have more fun with your dog. I have never had a better instructor and I have had many over the decades that I have trained my dogs. If you are expecting a doggie spa with strawberry cream rinses and boutique furniture, this isn't the place for you. If you are expecting a great instructor, trial level equipment and lots of fun bonding with your dog, then this is exactly the right place to train. Dee Durland is the instructor at Rewards Dog Obedience. She is the most qualified instructor I have ever had. My dogs have gone on to compete to their championships and qualified in agility. But most of all she is caring and compassionate toward all the dogs. She has a talent for getting "into" their heads and figuring out how to get the most out of very difficult dogs. No the facility is not the best. She certainly knows that but facilities are very expensive and since she rents she is limited as to the repairs that she can make. I can not express enough what a good trainer she is.

I have taken four personal owned dogs to Dee over the past ten years. I continue to use Dee because she is very knowledgeable with dogs, and understands what each dog needs. Her focus is on the dog, and what that particular dog may need versus what the owner THINKS their dog needs....because I was one of those owners who thought I knew what was needed for these dogs, and was shown I was off the mark!! This was proven to me with results, as Dee could get almost immediate results. Dee has been VERY honest with me, and told me I was a little too hard on my dogs, and she was right (I heard this later from my working dog trainer as well; I've handled three long working police service dogs). For those wondering, I am a police dog "handler", and not a dog "trainer", hence why I needed help
