This is an amazing rescue! I fostered to adopt last month and was constantly impressed with everything. I will be volunteering at some point because all of the incredible work they do by rescuing at risk dogs and finding the right forever home for them! Please consider donating to this wonderful organization!

I just started fostering with Rescue Me WV and so far they have been helpful and were quick to process my application and have a dog for me to foster. I currently have a foster now from them and while I’m not a permanent home for this particular dog, I look forward to fostering or adopting permanently through them. The rescue let me know the dog I am fostering came back positive for worms and quickly notified me and provided medication to clear it up.

I reached out to Rescue Me WV after Heman, my 19 yo year old yorkie passed. I filled out an application and started fostering Gizmo, a senior guy RMWV pulled from animal control. They provided support & supplies during the fostering period. I officially adopted Gizzy and we love him so much! Rescue Me has an amazing group of volunteers that really care about the dogs.

People preach to adopt don’t shop, what comes with adopting/fostering is that you never know if the rescue is being 100% honest when it comes to the dog that you are fostering/adopting. On day 3 of having Jake my roommate took him to meet some of her family who was excited to meet him, he growled and lunged at my roommates young niece but was fine around everyone else. The next day he was taken outside my male neighbor was walking from his car into the house, Jake proceeded to bark aggressively and lunged at him, when this happened Jake was corrected on this behavior even after trying to divert his attention he still insisted on going after the neighbor. The same day my roommate had to go pick her sister up to give her a ride (the same person he was around the previous day and had no issue

You jump through all of their hoops, background check, vet check, personal references, set up a home visit. Before they even make it to home visit they tell you the dog you wanted has already been adopted. Very disappointed will adopt from humane society or animal control.
