PetSmart

I always use pet smart for grooming. I previously used the Niskayuna (they are Great!!) location but recently relocated to Latham and gave them a try. First of all the location was a mess, a total disaster upon first impression. Can only imagine the condition in the back room… I did not receive a 15 minute curiosity call, and my dog was still damp upon pick up. Overall, not a great experience I will be making the trip to Niskayuna even though I’m 10 minutes from the Latham location.

Came in 10 minutes before close, not one other customer was there. My son was having a tantrum because his first fish died. The associate told me someone be right over and as I waited a few minutes she came over and said “so he said we’re not selling fish because we close at 9. You’ll have to come before like 8pm”. I wouldn’t say this is because there’s a “we don’t sell fish after this time issue” because I had no problem over the weekend buying the fish that died 15 minutes before close. Now I get to go home with the fish I rushed to get to so my son would calm down. Thank you petsmart! I just called petco, they said “we would have gotten you the fish, I’m sure they’re just being lazy” I would say that is correct. I like the grooming department for their prices and services. They are very reasonable compared to some places and they have some very simple walkin services like nail trim and ear cleaning.

DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Their management and their groomers are dishonest, condescending and CRUEL. My pet was denied grooming services after being groomed there without incident in the past because she has a medical condition which she is treated for and is in remission. At time of making appt i spoke with mgt and explained her situation. I was told notes were made. They were not. The level of disrespect is disgisting. CRUELTY!!!!

Knowledgeable staff. Great choice of products. Parking is great. Always had what I needed..
