I don't know if this store has different management now, but it's a much better experience when I go now. The employees seem more helpful and happier. Also, Sean, who I'm believe is a manager was very helpful when I went in Dec 26. I had a $10 coupon I'd received a few days earlier, and for some reason the register wouldn't recognize it. The employee and Sean tried a few things to make it work and finally succeeded. I really appreciate their diligence. I will be back!

Last Monday, I went into the store to socialize my pup. Upon first glance at the entry, the floors were so dirty, I didn’t let him on the ground. I decided to just hold him. I figured it wasn’t too big of a deal, it’s the middle of winter, and people track in snow and dirty on their boots anywhere you go. But as we walked around, everything grew a bit more concerning. All of the shelves looked unkept. There was a distinct smell of rotten fish, and the place looked desolate. There was hardly any animals, save for fish and reptiles. There was pee everywhere around the corners of the isles. I left, went to Coldspot, which, huge shoutout to them for being so friendly and amazing! We had a great experience there for socializing. Terrible store. They had a small aquarium on the shelf with no price on it. It was sitting next to a slightly larger tank that was priced at $34. I looked the priced tank up on the petco website, and it also said $34. Took it up front and it rang up as as $75. The cashier went to get the manager, and he immediately said "we cant price match glass." I said, "I want looking for a price match, its just that it rang up as twice the price...." (before I could finish my sentence and say "I just want to make sure the price is correct") he cut me off and said "your more than welcome to order it online then!" (Which i did, off Amazon). This terrible store hasn't even had working bathrooms in over a year in violation of AS 18.35.200. Alaskans deserve better.

Great customer service. Always have a Positive experience at this location. The variety and selection of toys, food and chews is also very good.

The Fairbanks petco location has useless management. I watched a cashier struggle on her own for 30 mins a manager came to the front and acknowledged the situation and left not finishing the bopus order that the cashier paged him up for help on. A customer actively complained about employees gathering towards the back of the store talking but not working or helping two of those employees were identified as managers. There were two pages for help on the intercom both were ignored. The line was backed up and I watched a different female manager walk into the office not open up a register to help she then left the office a few mins later still not helping.
