We fostered to adopt our sweet Pepper (aka Wiggles) she has completely changed our lives for the better. Cher was amazingly helpful and communicative with us. She and the staff there truly care about the animals and work tirelessly to help them. Remember they are all volunteers! It was a wonderful experience. We are so thankful for the support and kindness they show these animals.

My wife Linda and adopted our Rosie on March 30, 2025. We did the foster to adopted program. We wanted to adopted Rosie and her sister Buttercup. However, Buttercup was getting aggressive towards Rosie. We had to sadly surrender Buttercup. She was adopted within 24 hours. She was a dog that needed to be the only dog in the house. I wanted forever homes for both Buttercup and Rosie. However, it turned out that the best for them respectively was separated homes. Jean and the phenomenal volunteers at Parma Animal Shelter are extraordinary. They explained the foster to adopt program in detail. The volunteers communicate well with every step of the process. The volunteers help animals and people with compassion and knowledge. I have been familiar with the pet industry for over 40 year

imo (in case i dont remember everything exactly), they didn't do a proper behavioral assessment on an aggressive/high testosterone male adult cat neutered 3 or 4 years old before adopting him out or they knew and adopted him out anyways this is SO dangerous! fortunately I had an extra room to seperate him in when he growled for hours. it was very scary and stressful....i was originally there for a kitten they promised me after i got approved and i was even early from the time I gave them and they sold him from under me! then they tried to pawn this aggressive adult male to me for only $50! i didnt know why he was so cheap but now it makes sense.. it was a far drive for me so I felt pressured to not leave empty handed... if i remember correctly, they only had him for 2-4 weeks from the APL

For a few months I have been thinking about getting a kitten. I searched “kittens for sale” on google, and this animal shelter popped up. I decided to peek at their kittens just for the heck of it, and spotted one kitten I was interested in. I decided to fill out an application, really not expecting anything to come out of it, but sure enough, 3 days later, I get invited for an interview. I go there the next day and was greeted by a friendly staff. I worked with Eryn, who selected a random kitten, named Mischief, for me to hold and walk around with as she answered all my questions and listened to my concerns about bringing home a kitten to a house with 3 other animals. Eryn made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process, never pressured me into adopting the kitten that day, and w

It’s coming up on a year since our adoption here and it’s still the best decisions we’ve ever made! Angel (now Mochi) was a very anxious girl and staff was very attentive to ensure we would be willing to work with her. She has made so much progress since then it’s unbelievable! She now spends her time hoarding toys, sunbathing in the windows, and zooming around the yard/parks! Thank you all again for the work you do, we are forever grateful!!
