Worked with Christy to foster Althea! She was very nice and cares for the cats a lot! She was very helpful in giving me the information I needed to care for the cat! There were no issues at all with the process of fostering. The process was smooth and well thought out to ensure safety for both the animal and the foster. It was a great experience! Althea is a really friendly and fun cat. Please adopt her once she’s ready :)
***2025 UPDATE They’re very upfront about pet information (as much as they know) or issues, I’m confused by reviews that say otherwise. They said my cat had some urination issues, right up front, before I adopted her, not trying to hide it. I continue to refer people here whether they can no longer keep their pet or looking to adopt a companion. I’ve donated cash and supplies from their Wish List. When I’m in need of more animal companions I’ll definitely go to OFSA!*** Original Review: This program is awesome. I adopted a 13 y/o cat in February and she’s a perfect princess. She had been in a loving foster household (through Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals) for 6+ months. She came to them overweight and unkempt. Her awesome foster family took amazing care of her to prepare for her adopt
This is an amazing organization and to be honest, if someone has a poor review- they definitely have not seen what 95% of other animal foster agencies are like. Their adoption fees are low and include vetting, medical, and dental procedures. They don’t pressure their fosters to keep pets if they are beyond their abilities and means, the organization runners care about the animals and don’t overfill- which is what leads agencies to force fosters onto their volunteers, and they know what they’re doing. I have so much respect for ofosa and I always recommend it to loved ones looking for new furry family members.
We adopted an older Chihuahua and could have not been happier with the experience. It was a great experience and not to mention how much we love our fury friend Iris . We are actually to get another female Chihuahua to keep her company.
I got my adorable Tiki here. The staff were so nice and helpful. It was my first time adopting and they made the experience easy to understand for me. I was so nervous but it all went off without a sinch. After 5 months I have nothing but love for my cat. She's a spoiled little princess. She's a weirdo but she's my weirdo and I wouldn't trade her for anything.
