Modern Animal Encino

I took my dog Jamie here, this is a new vet in our area. Usually, vets are unreasonably pricey, but Modern Animal is great! Great pricing, and the yearly membership is so worth it! Jamie wasn’t feeling too well, and we didn’t know what to expect from this vet since it was our first time, but I have to say I’m more than impressed. Both Dr. Melman and Alex were amazing! Not only professional and friendly with us, but also really caring and attentive to Jamie as well. You can tell they truly love animals and care about their health, which you don’t see that often nowadays! 10/10 Jamie is feeling great with her treats and her new toy that was gifted to us as a welcome. 🥰

I hate to leave a review like this, but although Dr. Patty is nice, she is not reliable. Her lack of communication was unacceptable and a danger to my pet. She left me in a position several times without any answers well telling me my pet had an acute condition that needed to be addressed immediately. The last straw was when I we an ultrasound scheduled for that, and Dr. Patty had talked about potentially doing a different procedure last min, didn't clarify, and left everyone hanging so it has to be cancelled, and just never responded... ever again. This is frank negligence. Prior to that to get a response from her or clarification about any plan of care, I had to continuously make appointments that were completely unnecessary to get any kind of a response. I took my dogs, Arthur and Eevee, to the new Modern Animal in Encino toward the end of September, back when it looked like they were still in their soft-opening phase. We were one of the first clients and even though it was clear they were still moving in, the experience was already impressive. We went in for vaccines and the nurses were amazing with both of my dogs — super friendly, gentle, and patient. They treated my dogs like their own and really went above and beyond for them. It gave me so much peace of mind. This is now my closest Modern Animal and I can already tell it’s going to be my go-to clinic from now on. Soft opening or not, they delivered a great experience. Highly recommend.

Updating with more stars if we could! Our experience a couple of weeks ago was great. See below. But today we were able to experience another wonderful aspect of this office. Rowan had taken his anti-anxiety meds in order to make the process of getting his shots easier, but he was still pretty agitated. Edwin took Ro into a room rather than the back, and took the time to remind Ro that they were friends. And then, when Alex came in to give the shots, she and Edwin tried everything to help Rowan have a good experience. Rowan was not cooperating, but they were so kind. They finally found a great way to hold him, so that he was not freaked out and gave him both shots. It would be so easy to get frustrated or even do an eye roll, but there was none of that. Dr. patty is kind but extremely disorganized, incompetent and from the bottom of my heart the worst vet I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with. I repeat that she is as sweet as can possibly be, but has no business being in this profession. She needs to go back to school. The manager, unfortunately appears to be aware of this and will apologize on Google reviews, but nothing is done. Please don’t go to this clinic. You are risking your animals life by coming here go to any other vet even if it’s a different modern animal location.
