Mitten's Pets: PurrVella Cat Grooming & Boarding

I am leaving this review on behalf of my mother-in-law and Thor, our beloved family cat. My husband and I learned Thursday 2-26-26, that Thor had been injured following his grooming appointment and the vet needed follow up photos to see if he was healing. This is approximately two weeks later and I shudder to think what the injuries looked like fresh. We are appalled. My mother-in-law is not the kind of person to raise a fuss. Thor is the sweetest ball of fluff and quite literally wouldn’t harm a mouse. We understand that Thor, being a triple-coat Persian presents grooming challenges. He often has mats and requires his fur to be trimmed and/or shaved. We have been using Mitten’s Pets for about a year with no issue until now. This is absolutely unacceptable and we will no longer be bringing

This was our first time at the new PupVella on Stadium (fka Quality Grooming). Kahlua, our almost 16yo Australian Labradoodle, has been getting more difficult to groom at traditional pet stores. We had the best experience at PupVella with Ashley today. Ashley was patient, kind, gentle, and caring with our old girl. They also provided great communication before, during, and after the appointment. These folks really know what they are doing and they treat your pet like their own. Kahlua has found a new provider and we could not be happier.

I have a cat with a thick undercoat that kept getting matted. We started taking him to be groomed here as soon as they opened. They take such wonderful care of him and he always leaves smelling fantastic. In the summer, he and his mom get lion cuts (so cute!!). His mom is a little more spicy of a personality and they handle her grumbling with an expertise I could never replicate.

We love Mitten's Pets and so do our kitties! We have boarded our two cats there three years in a row and couldn't be happier. I did a lot of research before choosing them and it paid off. They only board cats which we considered a big plus. They spend time daily with each cat and snap photos which are then sent by email and saved to a parent portal on their website for viewing. This is so reassuring when you are out of town! The cottages and suites are large, homey and outfitted with everything a kitty could want. Our cats loved the high shelves! They have now added kitty cams which were reassuring and gave us a peek into what our kitties were up to when we were out of town. Don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed. Board your beloved kitties here!

Grooming was good but communication was completely unprofessional. I took Okami for his first grooming. Was told grooming went well and he'd been a little stressed but it was his first time. I schedule an appointment 3 months out was called a week later to reschedule which I obliged. Then, 2 weeks prior to my appointment was called to reschedule for 2 months later. Fully five months from my initial booking. The following day, I was called by a manager informing me my cat had been labeled aggressive and they wanted to refer him. There was no prior discussion of this as an issue. The groomers do a good job but the management team and owner clearly do not communicate. I would not trust getting consistent care with Mitten's pets
