If I could give ZERO stars I would. My sister took her senior dog (17) in for a follow up visit to receive some IV fluids. They brought her out from the back and they had cut the hair on her ears down to the skin WITHOUT my sister’s consent. Not only did they cut the hair on her ears without consent they nicked both her ears!!! DO NOT take your pet there. This is animal cruelty. Here are some before and after pictures. I pray this doesn’t happen to anyone else. UPDATED RESPONSE TO MICHIGAN AVENUE ANIMAL HOSPITAL: For further context, this is a 17-year-old senior dog who had recently fallen ill. During that time, grooming was understandably not the priority while we focused on her health and comfort. Especially with a senior dog, owners must be fully informed and involved in decisions tha

I first started taking my pets to MI Ave animal Hospital back in the early 2000’s. Recently returned to the area and am back to taking my pup there. My rescued frenchie has seen both Dr. Mabel and Dr. Poindexter; both were phenomenal with her. Recently my pup started passing stones in her urine which is something I’ve never dealt with and is pretty terrifying tbh. Dr Poindexter was able to complete the needed imaging without putting her on her back and risking strain or injury from her previous paralysis. Exam, imaging (1 view), and meds were around $200 which feels very reasonable. Lab fees for stone analysis were $350 which also seems fair, but nothing I’ve dealt with before so don’t have a comparison point. All in all, very happy.

I brought my 7 year old cat in because he’s allergy prone & had an eye infection. Overall the pricing is very fair, my vet from the town I moved from was much more expensive. They gave him a dye test on his eye (he might’ve scratched it), tested his ears, and gave me meds for all. It was under $300! Very happy I found a good vet for the duration of my graduate studies. The staff here are all very nice, I appreciated my tech, he listened to my concerns and made me feel much better/gave sound advice! The veterinarian also gave sound advice and preventive measures. They really care about your pets here. I will be a returning client, thank you all for being compassionate!

Will NEVER RETURN... The female Doctor was extremely rude. She told me to get my dog spayed like atleast 10x. I told her I needed to pay with Care credit and she literally got up with no acknowledgement and walked out the room, I then heard her in the hallway complaining saying "he only has Care credit and he's just now saying something! And we have a big sign up in the door that says our Care credit machine is down." It's easy to miss a sign when you have your dog pulling and acting crazy while your trying to get the door open. They could have told me that at the check in, that would have been great communication. The only helpful person was the middle eastern guy at the front, very friendly very calm and articulate. I can see that the bad attitude from the Doctor is rubbing off on her em

I should have read the recent reviews first, all are one stars. I was absolutely clear when I made the appointment that I only wanted vaccinations. Well the female vet is just obnoxious. She did not listen to a single word I said. After I am paying for two office visits she writes up estimates for around $800 of tests and other things that I know I don't need right now. Because my young dog is not quite spayed yet she demanded that I get X-rays and tests saying that she could be pregnant, when she absolutely could not possibly be pregnant. She has never been around a dog that could impregnate her. She also claimed my dogs have fleas, when I absolutely know they do not. So I paid the office visits and left without any care, because this woman was not someone I will ever let near my dogs. No
