Max's Hope Pet Rescue

I adopted my cat Gigi from here. I have nothing but good things to say about their rescue. They found Gigi on the streets as a kitten, took her in, litter box trained her, got her spayed, updated all shots, then I had the honor of bringing her home.

We adopted our sweet baby from here and they made the whole process so easy! They are dedicated to making sure the animals go to good homes and their application process is very thorough. They answered all my questions and everyone was so kind. Her fosters were wonderful and did everything they could to make sure her transition to us was as smooth as possible.

Ok, so, I don't really know about how to take this place. It seems packed with animals, it stinks so bad you can smell it outside, no one ever seems to be there and no one ever returns calls. I have tried to donate items a few times. I was successful once. They say the need donations but when you try to give them the donations, they don't try back. Between the conditions (just from the outside) , and the blacked out windows, the sheer amount of animals, the lack of response and the jumping through hoops just to adopt... I am really becoming more weary of this place. I will be donating all my items from now on the the animal shelter. They answer the phones and really care for the animals and really need donations.

Overcrowded, smelly, loud, and traumatizing. Earlier this year, I adopted a cat from them. This cat was not only not as described in the listing, but obviously disturbed from recent changes in his life and transport to the rescue's main location. Wasn't given a proper meet-and-greet with him, either. Currently working on getting him the help he needs in my own life. I was tempted to give him back, but I do not want to give him back to this rescue nor put him through the trauma he has already been through again of rehoming. I have also realized that he's had fleas this entire time, and while not severe, he is probably still suffering to some extent because of it. (Being indoor only, my previous cat never had fleas.) Wouldn't recommend this rescue. They can do better. 2 stars because it does

I contacted Max's in July cause I found I dog that needed rescued. I took the dog to the vet and got it current on all shots and health check for them. I called daily 3-6 times a day for 3 weeks, went by there also. Offered them 3k cash to take care of the dog and find it a good home. Months passed and still calling, found the dog a home on my own.
