First off anything but a 5 star review is on you people who leave that review. Shame on you. I know this crew and they are FABULOUS!! I have witnessed first hand the commitment and care and love they all give!! THIS IS NOT A JOB FOR THE FAINT AT HEART!! So thank you HSMC!! You are all incredible people!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I went there a few times trying to get a new cat. I found one named subway. Poor guy got picked up at 4 months and he had no social skills and he was scared. I sat with him let him smell my shoes and my glasses like Jackson Galaxy does. And by the time I left I was rubbing his ears ,petting him even picked him up. Later that day I get called was told I'm banned from adopting. Why? The little girl said i abused subway I told her I have never abused any animal. Told her about Jackson Galaxy and she had no clue. You would think that why would I come out many times to look for a cat that i cou sit and abuse any cat. I believe that they have a attitude and I'm surprised any animal gets adopted

A huge thank you to the Humane Society of Marathon County for re-microchipping our cat we adopted 5 years ago, for no charge, after his vet couldn't scan the one implanted at the shelter as a kitten. They went above and beyond to ensure our beloved family member is protected. Thank you!

I highly recommend going here to adopt your next family member! Yes, they have certain hours and yes there’s an application process, but they are an animal shelter!! People on the outside don’t see how it’s ran day to day. No day is ever the same! We adopted a 3 month old stray kitten and had the most pleasant experience! When we visited with the cat, one person was working. Literally doing it all, (walk-ins to possibly adopt an animal, answering phones, directing the volunteers, assisting people picking up their new pets, day to day needs, & everything else.) When we picked up our kitten, a family brought in their dog to surrender, which you need an appointment for. We, the people in the community don’t understand what they go through every single day, and the hearts that they must have t

I had an excellent experience adopting my kitten. Everything went quickly and everyone was super nice. My only complaint is the ridiculous names they give these animals before being adopted. For example- mine was Kvatch… maybe I’m the idiot, but none of us were sure how to pronounce it and that was one of the easier names at the time. Overall, great experience!! Thank you!!
