If I could give a zero, I would for the experience I had at this organization for the first time. I’m writing this review to share an extremely disappointing and heartbreaking experience my family had due to the poor communication and lack of follow-up from both the staff and leadership at Lollypop Farm. My family had been caring for two young stray cats who were bonded sisters. One of them developed a serious eye injury, and because we wanted her to get immediate medical care we couldn’t afford at that moment, we brought her to Lollypop Farm. At intake, we very clearly told staff that we intended to adopt her once she received treatment so she could remain with her sister. I adopted my sweet baby 6 years ago from Lollypop & she is simply my sassy little cuddle bug. I had at the same time, adopted my other sweet girl from a home who simply had taken her mother off the street to allow her to birth her litter. These were two vastly different experiences. My furbaby from Lollypop came with having all of her shots, spayed and a clean bill of health, for around $125? (Can’t recall) my other little girl… it was all out of pocket.. I won’t say where I went to have her spayed but, it was sticker shock at $480. The shots? I don’t recall. I won’t ever do that again. Luckily, she has had no health issues, which in cases like that, are a gamble. Adopted Woofy, my 8 year old Pomeranian mix in September through seniors for seniors. He’s a great companion! Lollipop made sure he was healthy before the adoption was final. He has settled in well!

I adopted from Lollypop Farm in November, after exploring lots of cats at other shelters in the area. I love my kitten, I have zero complaints about her, but there were a few things about Lollypop’s service that I don’t agree with. I don’t agree that they don’t test all cats for FIV and FeLV upfront, you have to pay $25 to have them tested, after you’ve already fallen in love with them. This could be really unfortunate for people that end up adopting a cat and realize they don’t have the resources to care for a cat with the potential for complex medical issues. The shelter itself had a lot of volunteers and employees, but it was not clean (cats sitting in their cages with vomit, unclean litter boxes). If you are considering adopting a cat, I highly recommend Lollipop Farm. I recently adopted a three-year-old cat named Cornelia, and she is the sweetest cat I have ever met. She loves to cuddle and enjoys having her ears scratched.
