Kindred K9 Academy

We sent our dog to Kindred Canine Academy in June for 2 weeks leading up to the birth of our first human child. Murray (4 year old westie) has had some leash problems and a tendency to run out of the door. We wanted to really create a good foundation and re-establish our relationship with Murray. Andy is an incredible trainer! He gave us daily updates with videos and photos. Murray is diabetic requiring 2 insulin shots a day and a very controlled diet. Andy and his staff took such good care of him, administering all of his shots at the appropriate times. We’ve since sent Murray to their associated daycare, Camp Opie, when we go out of town and have had one off day lessons with Andy. The training is only good and only works if you keep it up at home. Kindred K9 Academy is great! My dog is a lab/labradoodle mix and seems to have more poodle brain than lab chill. She needs constant reminders. At 6 six years old, she even learned a new trick. After working with Andy, she finally responded to lay down. She’s much nicer to be around and understands who is in charge of her life. I highly recommend them to teach your dog manners. It ‘ll make everyone’s life better.

Andy at Opie’s did a phenomenal job of first teaching our rescue pup solid basic fundamentals during the week long board and train, but then also followed up to help us with some behaviors that arose later. We trust Opie’s with our pup when we have to go out of town.

We started working with Andy when our puppy was about 4 months old. She had witnessed her sister being hurt by another dog, which made her more timid than the typical puppy phase. On top of that, we had no experience with training and wanted to give her the best possible foundation so she could grow into a confident, happy dog and truly enjoy life. After speaking with about 20 different trainers, we immediately clicked with Andy and choosing him was one of the best decisions we’ve made for Bailey. He kept us updated throughout all of her sessions, which gave us so much peace of mind. As an added bonus, he always took time to play with her so she could burn off energy while learning, something she absolutely loved. Andy and his team are great and know what they’re doing. If you need help with your dog/puppy like I did then you’re looking in the right place. Remi, my 8 month old puppy needed some extra help on recall and getting her to focus more on when I would speak to her. Remi has improved in all that and it’s made our life easier. I love that Remi still has her personality, but is better behaved!
