From the very first phone call, Kelly listened intently to the issues we were having with our 2-year-old border collie (incessant barking/reactivity towards other dogs, fearful of loud noises, not engaging with our 2 other dogs and being isolative). She did a very thorough assessment of Finley and determined that he was extremely fearful of other dogs. She provided her training recommendations and it was determined that Finley would stay with Kelly and her pack for 2 weeks. Kelly kept us updated on his progress with frequent texts and videos. Sending Callie to Kelly Engel for two weeks was nerve‑racking, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Callie came home still her sweet self — just more grounded, fully socialized, potty trained, gentle with my cat, and responsive to every command. She also trained me, which I think was the more difficult challenge! Kelly has a rare, intuitive gift. She doesn’t just train dogs; she understands them. She is a true Dog Whisperer. The connection she formed with Callie was almost magical. I’m so grateful for the transformation and the care she put into Callie’s wellbeing. My husband and I first met Kelly, probably 15 years ago when she was working at our local animal shelter. My husband went to look for our our friends missing dog, and while there overheard Kelly talking to some coworkers about a very special pitbull that she was fostering. His name was Rollo, and he hadn’t had the best start in life. But lucky for him. he had Kelly looking out for him. My husband and Kelly arranged for a meeting, she brought him to our house to meet the other dogs and the family. It love at first sight. Kelly has helped us with several rescue dogs over the years who've come from situations of negligence and fear. She has really been incredible--supportive, knowledgable, and clear. Our dogs have emerged beautifully due to her steady hand--she guided us in shaping calm, confident, and, most importantly, happy dogs. I can't recommend her more highly!
