Our 4 year old Bernese Mountain Dog suffered a CCL ligament tear in her knee last year and had surgery. We wanted to strengthen her other knee so it wouldn't need surgery as well and we are so glad we found this place! The prices are great and we love the convenient location in Wheaton. Our dog has been swimming here with Dr. Barb guiding her for several months and has lost weight, has more energy, and we are no longer worried about her knee! Swim and trim is a must for your recovering dog. Dr. Fuglsang works with your dog, gently massaging him, stretching and encouraging him to use his injured knee. She has the unique combination of experience and knowledge together with kind persistence. She has exercise and recovery in mind with all the activities and work she does with our dog. Dr. Fuglsang is extremely positive while still setting realistic goals and future quality of life expectations. This is the place and person you want for your dog.

We took our dog for swimming after her ACL surgery. She had significant muscle loss and lameness with possible onset of arthritis after her surgery. After about 6-8 visits, we saw a significant improvement in her mobility and stamina. It was amazing. She did a 30 minute swim and stretching. It did wonders for our 9 year old border collie.

Swimming is an excellent workout for older dogs because of it's low stress on their joints, and Dr. Barb does a great job swimming with our 14 year old Foxie! As a former emergency vet, she will also help with any health related questions and concerns you have. We brought her a copy of our dog's bloodwork results, and she was happy to go over them with us. Bring your dog here, and sit poolside as she works with them. You'll both be glad you did!
