So many people recommended this place to find and adopt a golden retriever. They told me to go to a rescue before a breeder. So I applied. After a month, I was told that I was not qualified because I don’t have a fenced in backyard. We go to the dog park all the time and take great care and give plenty of exercise to our dogs. They are family and this rescue justifies why people don’t use rescues. Everyone says to rescue a dog yet rescues like this refuse to give dogs a chance with dog lovers. Very disappointed. I have given a loving home to many dogs in my lifetime and to tell me i’m not qualified is pretty sad. Rescues like this selectively pick people and you can deny all you want but my email I received is enough proof for me. You missed out on providing a loving home to a dog in need.

An absolutely incredible rescue. The whole adoption process was easy, and they really care where the dogs are going. While they’re with Ellen and team, all of the dogs are so well cared for. I wish I could contribute more to them. So very deserving. Please consider this wonderful rescue when looking for your Golden Retriever. We are so blessed to have found them, and have an amazing pup as a result.

Ellen and her team are caring, compassionate and loving to all of the dogs that call Joshua's home. We adopted Sasha at the end of April as a companion to our 3 year old Golden. Joshua's is the finest rescue I have ever experienced. They continue to care for every single dog that is rescued. The prospective owner(s) are vetted and screened to ensure there is a good match and it shows by all the success! The love and care they have abundant! ❤️

I had the pleasure of visiting Joshua’s House and meeting Ellen and the dogs. Ellen is one of the most caring individuals i have ever met. The dogs adore her and they ate happy and so well cared for. I was not in a position to adopt when I visited but that never stopped them for allowing me tome with the dogs and spending time talking with me. When I visited, I had recently lost my dog of 14 years and my heart was not ready. Ellen allowed me time to get loving from the dogs and talked with me. Because of her, I adopted my Blossom almost a year later. If toy are looking for a dog, look no further. You could not do better than Joshua’s House.
