Home Away From Home

We’ve been bringing our Golden Retriever to Home Away from Home Pet Spa for years whenever we visit Carmel for golf and vocation, and it’s truly the place we trust. Our girl is now 14 and has arthritis, but the care she gets here is so compassionate. The staff are gentle and patient, they understand senior dogs and take thoughtful steps to keep them comfortable. When we pick her up, she’s relaxed, clean and content. It gives us peace of mind knowing she’s surrounded by caring people. We are so grateful to have found this place as it is a place with people with real hearts.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. We were driving all the way from Oregon to Monterey to celebrate my birthday, and right before getting there, I got a flat tire. It was such a stressful moment but the amazing team here went above and beyond for us. They stayed late just so I could still drop off Bruce, and that small act of kindness meant the world to me. Bruce came back happy, calm, and completely tired out. I could tell he was loved and cared for the whole time. It’s such a relief to know there are people who treat your dog like family. I’m so grateful for their kindness, flexibility, and genuine love for what they do. Bruce and I both left with full hearts. ❤️🐾

I had a wonderful stay at Home Away From Home in Monterey. The property is cozy, clean, and feels truly welcoming, with a warm, homey atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable immediately. The rooms are well-maintained, nicely furnished, and thoughtfully arranged, providing everything you need for a relaxing stay. The hosts are friendly, attentive, and responsive, ensuring that all questions and requests are handled promptly. The location is convenient, close to local attractions, restaurants, and scenic spots, making it easy to explore Monterey. Overall, Home Away From Home combines comfort, cleanliness, and excellent hospitality, making it an ideal choice for anyone seeking a stress-free and enjoyable stay in the area. I would happily return for future visits.

Awesome staff and our pup had a super fun day while we hung out at the Aquarium. Our pup usually is nervous when she goes to a new spot. At Home Away from Home, she is warmed right up and ran straight in “bye Mom!” They are experts. We will certainly come back when we’re in town again!

This was Bruno's second year to be boarded for five days while we were on vacation. He loves it there, goes in happy and comes out happy. We enjoy our trip so much better knowing he's happy and well taken care of. Thank you Joel and your great staff. I always highly recommend this place.👍😀
