Dr. Sturla and the staff at Holmdel Veterinary Clinic staff are very kind, patient, gentle people who seem to genuinely care about the animals that come to see them. My 12½ year old Beagle mix Seamus started going to Holmdel Veterinary Clinic 10+/- years ago (after his original vet retired). Whenever my sweet sugar-faced boy walks into that office, he gets so many "ooohs" and "aaahs" and pats on the head. I don't know how he stays so humble with so many people making a fuss over him! I once 'caught' Dr. Sturla giving Seamus a gentle kiss on the head while he was giving him an examination. That one sweet and simple gesture meant so much to me. My family and I had complete trust in Dr.Sturla when we had to get our puppy neutered. We were encouraged because only one testicle dropped. We were told it was not a procedure that had to get done at a hospital so we had Dr. Sturla do it. Fast forward- he told us when we picked bubba up that day, he could not retrieve the one testicle because it was”attached to his bladder” and we would have to wait a month and get it removed at garden state animal hospital. We brought him home and that night into the next morning he was bleeding out of his penis. I called first thing in the morning and they didn’t seem too worried. We love this doctor & the staff. They are so thorough & they are so sweet to our Lexi! She actually looks forward to coming here. She goes in with the girls no problem. The doctor is a sweetheart & never does anything extra that doesn’t need to be done.

What a great team! I brought my 15-16 year old dog, Magnolia, in this week and she was treated like a queen! I was so impressed by how friendly all of the vet techs and front desk staff were. I am also so grateful for Dr. Sturla’s compassion for Magnolia. He was so thoughtful in how he spoke to me about caring for my very senior girl. Maggie is doing much better! Thank you!
