Helping Paws Animal Shelter

I adopted a kitten named Cambridge back in 2016 at the Helping Paws Animal Shelter. I visited the shelter multiple times prior to adopting. There were a few kittens I was interested in at that time but each time I hesitated; not sure if I was ready. Cambridge was so reserved and disinterested that one of the volunteers could not even get him out for me to have a 1:1. By the 3rd visit, he was one of the few kittens left, both his roommates were adopted together, and he was just sitting in the back corner all by himself. Long story short, I decided the to adopt him and through all the scratches and hisses, he became known as the biggest mama’s boy to our family and friends. I renamed him Kirby and he is still with me today and will be turning 10 this month. He is a super healthy and happy

Poppy (formerly Thimble) has already settled right in with our dogs, and daughter, so much so that it feels like she has been here forever. ❤️ We couldn't be happier with the adoption process. I was interested in adopting a 3rd cat about a month or so ago and I was looking at shelters near me. I discovered helping paws and I wanted to try it out. I’m not so much concerned of the shelter itself, I want to be able to give a pet a home. That’s the main objective. So I go in with my fiancé for our appointment and all the cats were so cute. I wanted a senior so I could give a home and a life to a cat that could possibly pass away in the shelter. Helping paws didn’t have any seniors so I didn’t really attach to any of the cats there really. I was talking to one of the assistants and I wish I remembered her name but I didn’t because I would’ve made sure to specifically mention her. I was talking about the two cats I have at home and that one of my cats had a urinary blockage, so I feed

I had a wonderful experience with Helping Paws. Everyone there is so friendly and truly cares about the animals and the families adopting them. They took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I understood the commitment involved before bringing my dog, Reggie, home. We adopted Walter over a holiday weekend. They were open on the holiday and did everything possible to adopt the cat out to us as quickly as possible. It was a great experience and everyone was so kind and welcoming. Also very knowledgeable staff!!
