Healthy Pet Clinic at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia

I just had the craziest conversation with A. (an employee) at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia. I wanted to make an appointment to see the vet, because I picked up a stray kitten last night. A. on the phone said that they don't see stray cats because of possible behavioral issues!! Say what? Isn't that a large part of what the humane society is about? So what happens with the stray cats that get brought to the humane society of Northeast Georgia? Not just strange but also very disappointing! This is a good way to deter the community from helping animals or even supporting the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia. BTW, the kitten I rescued last night, does not have any behavioral issues. He is the sweetest most loving cat I have encountered.

We are so blessed to have this strong pillar in our community. The staff was always so helpful with all of my questions and helped my dog's surgery go smoothly. Thank you to April, Andrea Marin, Dr. Cook, and all the staff who I didn't get to know by name for your answers and support. My furbaby is recovering well. I highly recommend this clinic!! Everyone was so warm and welcoming and friendly when I brought my 7 month old puppy in to get spayed and chipped. They were knowledgeable about the questions I had about her care after surgery. I will definitely be bring my sweet Shelby Grace back there for healthy check ups.

We take all of our cats here after finding the location while searching for a lower cost vet. Yearly visits are fantastic and the staff is so friendly. But the spay/neuter services…..incredible. We’ve taken 2 cats to be spayed. They are up and walking within 10 mins of getting home. Incision is tiny and glued together, no stitches. You are sent home with 2 days of pain meds but the cats don’t even seem like they need the doses! They recommend no playing for 10 days, but our cats were playing, running, and climbing the very next day with no issues (with our supervision, of course. Tried to keep them from climbing super high….) This clinic is wonderful. Always clean, attentive staff, and the cost is perfectly manageable. Can’t recommend this place enough.

We brought our 1 yo, 40 lb bully mix for a vaccine and was shocked when the staff refused to treat him for being “too aggressive.” When it’s clear he is just scared and showing signs of anxiety… A veterinary team should be equipped to work with anxious dogs of ALL breeds. Denying him basic care puts his health at risk and showed a serious lack of training and compassion. If your staff can’t handle a small, frightened dog, you shouldn’t be working with animals. Very disappointing experience.
